Is ‘Ilbe’ a disgrace to the conservative rightists?

Last month 100 and odd members of Ilbe group and Association of Ja-Yoo University Students paid a visit to Gwanghamun Gate carrying lunch boxes. While having their lunch near the fasting place of Sewolho families, the members shouted, calling for returning the Gwanghamun plaza distressed under the political games.

They staged signature-collecting campaign to oppose the enactment of special law about the Sewolho tragedy. A passing citizen, who has disclosed his identity as a businessman, said to them, “You, the Ilbe students, are defending the centre of the country, please have lunch to the full and guard the country.” He donated 100 dishes of pizza on the spot before leaving.

Since the incident known as ‘the Ilbe fighting campaign with voracious eating’, the leftist organizations and media have been condemning the Ilbe group in a body by calling them immoral and anti-social. In addition to this, the conservative politicians and media joined them in denouncing  the Ilbe by saying, ‘it is like sprinkling salt on the wounded cut of the distressed bereaved families.”

Disregarding the act of the Ilbe group at Gwanghamun, one should take into consideration whether it is right or not for the conservative force in the sunny place to trample down the Ilbe like this.

In Korea, there are struggles going on between the leftists and the rightists in all areas such as the media, educational institutions, circles of art, culture and entertainment, not to speak of politics and society.   At present, majorities of all are dominantly occupied by the leftists. Even the National Assembly, in which the majority belongs to the ruling party, is in a state of being driven by the leftist minority. 

If the current tendency continues, it will be a matter of time for the national structure based on freedom and law and order to be overturned and fall into a socialist state. Which really reflects how incompetent and irresponsible the established conservative forces of Korea are.

The Ilbe is the internet cite of space in the largest community site, ‘DC Inside’ in Korea, in which the right wing youths meet together. They have professed themselves to be law-abiders and patriots.

Originally, the internet bulletins of the social network service (SNS) are so full of swearwords and curses that they are degraded into the lower class cultures. If pushed away from the established  cultures, the juvenile opinions will be monopolized by the leftists. It is the Ilbe members who  successfully hold the ground for the conservative right wing in the cite dominant by the leftists by detecting and disclosing their fabrications and hypocritical conducts as well as attacking them in the same tactics.

According to the Ilbe group, the real objective of the rally at the  Gwanghamun was to shout clearly to the leftists, “ We are also the voice of the nation.” All the political acts and performances in the streets  have been monopolized by the leftists so far.

When the Online Ilbe members staged the street rally for the first time as the active right wing youth, all the leftists were shocked and started to take the offensive against the Ilbe. The present offensive by the leftists remind us of their fierce attacks on the history books compiled in favor of the right wing and their desperate attempt to wipe them out.

It is fair of the Ilbe to be blamed for their indiscreet language and vulgar behaviors at the Gwanghamun. Theirs cannot be the creditable voice of the nation until they can show their maturity in future . However, who is qualified to criticize them in our society?

When the leftist groups and their followers insulted the President and right wing groups with all  kinds of rubbish languages in disguise of artistic expression such as ‘쥐바기Jwibagi, (calling the former  president), ‘닭그네dalkgeune (calling the current president), our camp did not throw stones at them. It is more than 6 months since they operated the mourning political situation. It is more than 50 days since  they staged tent sit-down strike. The nation will judge which is the wretched act, the ridiculing act to  the sit-down strike by the Ilbe, or the silence to the scene of running aground of the nation.

The established conservative camp has shown conciliatory stance assuming genteel air in the  mud fighting field of ideology struggles so far. Such postures resulted in the creation of the law for advancement of the Assembly. When the aged persons caring for the nation appeared on the scene  of leftist demonstrations, they shunned them by calling them ultra-right as the leftists did.

They also vilified the young right wing activists in the asphalt street calling them ultra-right as  well. The young leftist activists have been selected for high government positions or elected as  representative of the Assembly, but the established conservative class did not welcome the young  right wing activists and even avoided meeting them.

What do the young right wing activists think of the self-protection and hypocrisy of the established  conservatives? The Ilbe group is the only right wing youth group which has grown for themselves and  their members are young activists for the sake of the conservatives.

In what capacity can the established Korean conservatives criticize  Ilbe?
